scandi suite
Scandi-inspired redesign.
Where to begin with how much this basement space has changed? These lucky homeowners had a double long garage on the side of their basement-so we took advantage of the unused space and created an entirely new bathroom, laundry and clever side hallway that the artistic homeowner could use to display her paintings - art gallery style. Plus-a gorgeous home theatre, extra closet space and a restful guest room/home office. In the guest room/home office-we were able to carve out under stairs storage which can be used for wine storage and painting or office supplies-how fabulous! The new side hallway connects the guest room/home office to the bathroom giving easy access between each space.
The bathroom is whimsical and outfitted to make any guest feel at home! Custom vanity cabinetry, bidet toilet and lovely shower with ample storage within. There is even enough room to house the laundry and water heater(hidden away of course!).
The theatre room can now accommodate movie nights, sports game days and anything in between. All the walls, ceilings, trim and doors were painted a deep charcoal gray so full attention can be paid to the screen or just sinking in and relaxing! Original HVAC ducting was also painted the same color to blend in and not have to be impacted by changes in the structure. This is the ideal space to experience the “hygge” feeling we all crave anytime of year.
What a spectacular upgrade that will have far ranging benefits for this active family for years to come!
